Immigration Reform

Immigration Reform
It is very obvious that companies are now being to hire illegals as they will work for practically nothing. Corporations are going against the appropriate legislature and are supporting the hiring of illegals. Congress has increased border patrol and built new walls, but nothing seems to work. The two political parties present in modern day society have two very different views on the matter. On one hand you have the Democrats who believe that it is America’s reasonability to create a pathway to citizenship. On the other hand you have the Republicans who believe that the border should be fortified to keep these aliens out. But what about the illegals that have already crossed the border? What should be done concerning them?
Democrats, in fact, do believe that immigration reform is essential. They believe that border patrol should continue to be financed and supported. However, Democrats also believe that government services such as the INS should be used to help these immigrants obtain citizenship. With proper paperwork and the payment of taxes, these immigrants should be given the same rights as others. Democrats also believe that corporations should be punished for their unfair treatment of illegals. Their under-the-radar hiring’s are grounds for punishment as illegals and being paid for practically nothing. They ultimately believe that America is a melting pot that was founded by immigrants. Thus, open immigration should be encouraged and supported with tax dollars.
Republicans, on the other hand, believe that border patrol should be heavenly increased. They call for cameras and tracking devices. They believe that resources should be split into border enforcement and services for the illegals. Republicans hope to find these aliens and deport them so they do not cause any harm to others. Laws such as the SB1070 in Arizona have been created to stamp out these illegals. However, laws such as the SB1070 often do not stand in court as Democrats feel like minorities are being racial discriminated against. Asking a minority for proof of citizenship is racial profiling in the eyes of Democrats. In general, Republicans believe that illegal aliens are taking away jobs that could be occupied by legal citizens. They are using national resources(schools, hospitals, etc.) for virtually nothing as they do not pay taxes dollars. They are what you would call free riders who benefit from the misfortune of others. Republicans also believe that Immigrants should be given the right to work if no legal resident is available. If a shortage of workers does occur, temporary visas should be given to these workers hiding in the shadows.
In conclusion, both parties realize that the modern system is not working. There are too many illegal aliens entering our borders that receive treatment similar to that of animals. Both sides believe that reform is the only option. However, they both believe that the other side is unjust and foolish in their ideals. Hopefully one day, the two sides will be able to compromise and immigrants will be given a new pathway for freedom.
